Our paper has been published today in Scientific Reports.
This work was led by PhD student Yan He (her first paper🥳) and investigates broadband achromatic metalenses for the short-wave infrared (SWIR) region.
The study focuses on the important 1.8-2.3 μm band, relevant to quantum sensing, molecular spectroscopy, and free-space optical and quantum communications. Using a CaF₂-substrate metalens with silicon nanostructures, the work shows how chromatic aberration can be strongly suppressed across this broad SWIR window, while also shedding light on the nature of depolarisation in metasurface devices.
